Dead School is finally here!

It released last week, and I didn’t even have a chance to blink because I had to gear up for my first book launch release party. Both moments, might I add, were lovely.

Tell your friends that are 13+! What a great feeling to see it creep up in the ranks in the top 100 (Dark Fantasy category), out of 8 million books…

Um, there was an hour it was doing better than Ransom Riggs?? Don’t believe me, look above! Ransom Riggs: author of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children… Yes, it was one little moment, and I have a screenshot, therefore it’s real! Amazon is funny with its ranking system. I need to learn more about the mechanics.

As for the book launch party, it was truly special…

Over 40 people attended, and most of them were friends and family.

It was also the first time I had to make a public speech… well, anywhere. Yes, I sang in nursing homes as a kid, but I never actually gave a speech in front of a crowd. In fact, growing up, I hated speaking because I had a little stutter. Ssh… don’t tell anyone. I like to think that was due to my mind going on overdrive before my mouth could catch up with all my thoughts. Glass half-full, people.

I learned several things.

1- I’m not too bad at public speaking, in fact… I kind of enjoy it!

2- There is nothing better than face-to-face marketing.

3- Chicken salad sandwiches were a hit… More food, more smiles.

And we may have had a ghostly visitor disrupt my speech! Not surprised. Get your copy and tell me what you think! Reviews give me some lovin’ 🙂
